Encyclopedia Britannica has just opened up its content to Web publishers. If you link to any article, your readers also will be able to read the entire article free of charge.1

The Encyclopedia Britannica is fighting back against the online ubiquity of Wikipedia by branching out into the online world, with the launch of its Webshare page. It is offering web publishers, including bloggers, access to its online encylopedia - although you must apply and be approved to gain access.2

NEW YORK, NY February 26, 2008 — Encyclopedia Britannica, an innovator of online research and education, has outsourced affiliate program management to NETexponent, a leading, performance based online marketing agency. Britannica is proud to provide its affiliates with three industry leading resources in Commission Junction (CJ), Performics, and NETexponent.3

Entitled “A/B Testing Case Study,” Smith’s presentation will be an information rich session that will examine a number of tests, resulting in both winners and losers, to give marketers an overview of every aspect of a campaign-from conception, design, execution, and most importantly, results. Encyclopedia Britannica has been prolific in the use of A/B testing over the past 18 months.4

Finding information with Britannica Online Academic Edition is fast and easy. Students and faculty will enjoy access to multiple resources from one location, delivering search results with a range of content including encyclopedia articles, multimedia, related Web sites, magazines, and much more.5

Britannica ’s contributors are chosen for their professional expertise. As the company’s literature says, they are “Nobel Prize winners, authors, curators, and other experts.” Another blurb says, “Most are authors, university professors, commentators, museum curators, scientists, and other experts chosen for their field expertise.” These writers get paid for their work on the encyclopedia and they get bylines.6
